Mark 16: 14-18

New King James Version

The Great Commission

14 Later He appeared to the eleven as they sat at the table; and He rebuked their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they did not believe those who had seen Him after He had risen. 15 And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. 16 He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. 17 And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues 18 they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”

Acts 2: 36-39

New King James Version

Peter’s Sermon

36 “Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly that God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ.” 37 Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Men and brethren, what shall we do?” 38 Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are afar off, as many as the Lord our God will call.”

PERSONAL NOTE:

There you have it, the 2 main things you need to do to be saved is to accept Jesus into your heart and be baptized. Accepting Christ is repenting and repenting is to turn your life around. A lot of people want to argue over the importance of being baptized. A lot will say I am saved by grace and don't need to be baptized. They obviously forgot the 2 main places in the bible that say different. there are many deep reasons why you need to be baptized but I believe it is an act of obedience. If any person is able he should get baptized period. Once you get baptized you receive the Holy Spirit. The moment you are baptized every sin you ever committed is washed away. Why would any one not want that?? I also learned that salvation comes when you repent and believe in Christ. Also people do get the Holy Ghost when you first believe. I don't believe you will go to hell if your not baptized. lol But I do believe it is a important thing to do.
